Basement Sweat Shop
10-9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1 Ring Push-ups, Floor Wipers (#70), Squats holding 25#, Wheel Outs from the Knees 18:54 Using Elite rings I got fer my housewarming. I thought I did it much faster, I took very few breaks. The wheels are rough on a sore shoulder. Transitioning to the wipers took some maneuvering.    Goal is 30 ring pushups nonstop [LEVEL III]

L-Pulls
In 20 minutes do as many sets of  5 handstand pushups 10 L pullups 15 walking lunges Almost finished 7 rounds, I alternated 35# dumbell pushpress, steep incline pushups amd 10 sec. handstand holds with the wall for the HSPU. Did 95% L pullups, which is excellent compared to a prior attempt of 9 rounds doing mostly jumping pullups.

Crossfit @ Yale
400 meter runs with 2 minute break in between 1:22, 1:25, 1:28, 1:24 In an effort to improve my “MURPH” time (48:39 on 10/27/07)  100 situps for time 3:18  Considered Kipping Pullups

Post workout chow Cup of chocolate milk, Fiberone bar, 3 scrambled eggs with feta and spinach, 22 almonds, 2 packets of oatmeal, 2 cups of coffee Too much!

Break Through!
After a nice rest day, I started the week with some heavy lifting.  Deadlifts—7 sets of 3 reps   225/245/255/265/255/255/255 My form is poor to begin with and at 265, I was all over the place. So I dropped down a bit and concentrated on creating one fluid movement. MANAGED 6 KIPPING PULLUPS! They are actually fun, a pullup fun?

Starting reading The Omnivore’s Dilema by Michael Pollan a couple weeks back. I am going to try to avoid red meats, chicken, turkey, pork. Meat production scares me and I really don’t love meat. The First Workout
Crossfit workout today! “Nancy” in 25 degree weather 5 sets of 400 meter run with (15) 75 lb overhead squats (prescribed is 95 lb)  28:27 First time doing this one, wasn’t too bad apart from not being able to feel my fingers after the runs. You really have to concentrate on stablizing your arms when you get tired or the weight goes all over the place.

5X5 work
Quick, yet positive night at Payne Whitney. Started with Back Squat repeated 185# 5x5 and felt REAL solid on all except for 1 rep of the 25. My depth may not have been perfect but damn close, I’ll take it. Then I went with Power Cleans 95# 5X5. Pretty easy, tried to keep the weight close to the body and get the triple extension on each rep. Getting under the bar with my elbows was easy for...
